Art Journaling is my true passion

Being an American in a foreign country I must admit that I feel a bit "out of place". Somehow I don't fit in. And yes, I would say that I'm different from the rest. I've struggled with this for years. But now that I've come to a point where I am comfortable with all of my "differentness" - America is the country that I grew up in. Not Germany. English is my native tongue. Not German. It might sound crazy, but I don't have a connection between those two languages. Even though I speak German fluently ( Yep, even that Bavarian dialect ) I have trouble conveying my thoughts, my inner voice. But over the years I've learned that I can convey my voice without words. Now I speak the language of creativity. In my art and above all in my art journal. My journal is a place where I can be different. Be vulnerable, and just plain me. That's one reason why art journaling is something that I definitely need. It's as important to me as the air that I breathe - and now being different is something that I nurture.
