Art Journal Advent is all about mindfulness and self-care in December.
With daily journal prompts - from December 1st until the 24th - Tamara and I encourage you to take some "time-out" by simply taking some time for yourself and your creativity.
Our prompts are a wonderful mix of self reflection, mindfulness and creative fun!
How does it work?
Tamara and I will be sharing daily art journal prompts from December 1st til the 24th on our Instagram account @ArtJournalAdvent - the full list of prompts will also be available here as of November 15th
These daily prompts are an invitation to get creative. And yes, of course we realize that you have a lot on your to-do list in December... that's exactly why we would like to encourage you to take a short time-out each day for your creative play. Me-time amidst a busy and bustling December.
This year, we're literally slowing down on reposts to encourage you to dive deeper into your own creative journey - and to embrace more time offline.
Here's how you can join us ...
You can either use an already made art journal or you can make your own.

We will be releasing a prompt each day from December 1st to the 24th. For each prompt, we invite you to either create something in your art journal or simply reflect and write down your thoughts about it. Take a moment to center your mind around the daily prompt - lean into it, explore it and see where it takes you.

This year is the "offline Edition"
It‘s a sign o’ the time - too much social media. That’s why we’ve decided to go a different direction this year. The „offline edition“ was born.
Art Journal Advent has a special place in hearts. For years, it has been a place full of inspiration, exchange, and creative togetherness during the Advent season. And that’s exactly why we are continuing it this year – but in a different way.
We live in a world that constantly tells us to share, to post, to prove. But the heart of art isn’t proof—it’s presence. It’s the quiet hours, the messy drafts, the joy of making something simply because you felt like it. That’s where the soul of your creative voice is born.
We all feel the constant sensory overload that surrounds us each and every day. Especially on social media: liking, scrolling, comparing – simply too much, so that our inner world can hardly keep up. In creativity, this often means that we lose contact and forget to listen to our own creative voice.
That’s why we’re giving ourselves and you something new: this year Art Journal Advent will be an offline edition. There will still be daily prompts here on Instagram during December 1–24, – small impulses for mindfulness, self-care, and creativity. But: without tutorials, without guest artists, and most of all, without Michelle and Tamara reposting your art every day. Of course, you’re still welcome to share your creations with the hashtag, and every now and then we’ll show some of them in our feed.
Please keep in mind - just because you’re not showing up online doesn’t mean your art disappears. It doesn’t make it less valuable, less powerful, or less real. If anything, the opposite is true—when you keep it close, when you create without the pressure of an audience, your work becomes more intimate. It becomes an intimate exchange between you and your heart and soul, unfolding as a quiet conversation.
We deeply believe that these quiet moments hold more value than the digital flood - that silence, paper, paint, and pen can bring us closer to our creative voice than a thousand likes ever could.

How much does it cost?
It doesn't cost a thing - except the time that you that take, which is an investment in yourself! "Me time" - more important than ever!

Please keep in mind that you don't have to make an extravagant page and you don't have to do this each and every day if you don't find the time. It's sometimes nice to just sit down, take a deep breath and center your thoughts on the daily prompt. Whatever and however you choose to work with the daily prompts is totally up to you.
